Addressing Modern Exhaustion with Science and Compassion

Global Burnout

Rapid Changes Have Led
Us to Global Burnout

What is Global Burnout?

It is a well-known fact that professional burnout (a state of exhaustion, cynicism about work and a perceived lack of efficacy) is ubiquitous in our society. Less obvious, however, is the fact that this problem has long since spread beyond the workplace: stay at home parents, retired persons, even young people whose careers are barely started, all are experiencing an overwhelming fatigue and loss of motivation, weighed down by the stresses of life, seemingly shell-shocked by the state of our civilization. This is global burnout.

Over 30 years ago, health authorities predicted an exponential increase in stress, depression, and anxiety due to lifestyle changes such as technology use, media consumption, nutrition, loss of community, evolving family structures, and sleep patterns. Today, these predictions have materialized, with depression and anxiety ranking among the top contributors to the global burden of disease, according to the World Health Organization.

Everything Is In
Your Hands

Modern life's demands have left many of us stressed, sleepless, unmotivated, and uncertain about our future. Consequently, we may develop depression and anxiety and often turn to unhealthy coping mechanisms like overeating and excessive drinking. The good news is that every human being has the potential to transcend these challenges. The future may seem somber, but your future will not be. Everything is in your hands.

Our "Global" Program

To help people overcome these “diseases of civilization,” Anthropedia has
developed the Global Burnout Recovery Program. We use the term “Global
Burnout” because burnout is no longer confined to the workplace and
because burnout for some is related to the global conditions of civilization.

We also use global to refer to our approach, which is both international
and focuses on the whole person.
